OUR APPROACH

Asbestos Information That Leads To A Decision

A practical starting point for commercial landlords, facilities managers and contractors.

Begin With The Building And The Work

Southampton Asbestos Surveys helps businesses define their asbestos survey, testing and management requirements. An occupied school, a warehouse fit-out and a commercial lease review ask different questions. We start by understanding what information you have and what you need to do next.

Our services cover management surveys, project-specific refurbishment and demolition surveys, targeted testing, removal and disposal enquiries, air testing and management plans. The aim is a clear instruction with the right access, reporting and follow-up arrangements.

Standards Have A Practical Purpose

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 provide the legal framework for asbestos work. HSE’s HSG264 addresses surveying, while HSG248 describes analytical procedures. Those references help define the work, but they do not replace checks on the appointed provider.

Before commissioning a survey, ask about competence, impartiality and the organisation’s quality arrangements. HSE strongly recommends accredited survey organisations. For commissioned laboratory analysis and air monitoring, confirm the relevant UKAS accreditation and scope.

Know Who Will Handle The Enquiry

With your agreement, we may pass your enquiry to a suitable local firm to discuss and quote for the work. You should receive its identity, proposed scope, terms and relevant competence or licence details before deciding whether to proceed. No appointment or price is created simply by sending this form.

Check the scope against your maintenance or construction plans, and resolve exclusions before agreeing the instruction. Where licensed removal or an accredited analyst is needed, confirm those arrangements with the appointed firm.

Leave The Building Team With Useful Records

A survey needs to be understandable to the people arranging future work. Location references, restrictions and action points matter as much as the headline finding. Keep the register current and make relevant information available before maintenance starts.

We welcome enquiries across Southampton and nearby South Hampshire. Share the building use, postcode and proposed activity through the enquiry form, or read our buyer questions if you are still choosing the right service.
